Te Arai Lodge is located in golfing paradise only 15 minutes drive from New Zealand’s premier golf resort, Te Arai Links, and the world’s 2nd best golf course Tara Iti and less than an hours drive from several top 30 New Zealand golf courses.

The South Course at Te Arai Links was recently ranked No.2 in New Zealand, topped only by Tara Iti which also ranked as the world’s 2nd best golf course outside the USA.

With the Te Arai Links North Course set to open in 2023 to similar accolades, Te Arai is quickly becoming one of the world’s great golfing destinations alongside the likes of the Monterey Peninsula, St Andrews and Bandon Dunes.

Positioned alongside one of New Zealand’s most pristine beaches, Te Arai Links offers a pure links golf experience, incredible scenery and world class facilities with multiple restaurants, bars and the world’s largest putting green, called The Playground (2-acres in size) making it a must visit for any golfing fanatic.

Other nearby public golf courses included the spectacular seaside Mangawhai Golf Club, Waipu Golf Course and Omaha Golf Course, all of which are ranked within the top 30 courses of New Zealand and are within a 45min drive from Te Arai Lodge.

All courses in the region are kept in great condition throughout the year and are predominately sand based with free draining fairways, native flora and spectacular views.

There are also several other internationally recognised golf courses within a few hours drive or a short helicopter flight from Te Arai Lodge. These courses include Kauri Cliffs (currently ranked #37 in the world by Golf Digest), Carrington Golf Course, Muriwai Golf Course, Titirangi Golf Club (the only Alister Mackenzie golf course in New Zealand) and the Jack Nicklaus designed Royal Auckland Golf Course.
