Terms and Conditions.
By making a booking at Te Arai Lodge you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions.
Please read the following carefully
All rates are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include the 15% New Zealand Goods & Services Tax
There is a 3-night minimum stay for all Exclusive Use bookings and a 5-night minimum stay for Peak Season bookings (20 December – 5 January)
Rates are subject to confirmation at the time of reservation and subject to all payments being paid by due dates. All credit card payments incur a 2.9% credit card fee
Inclusions
The following are included in each guest stay:
On-site property manager to meet and greet and to attend to any issues/queries with regard to the use of the property during your stay. Additional requests of the site manager beyond one hour a day will be charged at $50 NZD plus GST per hour
Pantry staples
Wood for fires (the wood fires must not be left unattended at anytime, and fireguards must be used at all times)
Use of all lodge facilities facilities including gardens, yoga studio, outdoor baths, swimming pool, spa pool and gym are for the exclusive use of Te Arai Lodge guests only
WiFi, Sky and smart TV
4 mountain bikes
Tesla and electric car charging stations.
Booking Confirmation
To secure a booking at Te Arai Lodge, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required.
For all Peak Season bookings (20 December - 5 January) a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.
Payment is by credit card or bank transfer only and all charges must be covered by the guest
Final Payment
Final payment is required 30 days prior to the reservation check-in date
For all Peak Season bookings (20 December – 5 January) full payment is required 60 days prior to the reservation check-in date

Cancellation policy
Due to our intimate size, cancellations affect us greatly. As a result, we adhere to a strict cancellation policy and strongly advise that travel insurance be taken out in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Up to 30 days of arrival 30% forfeit of total booking period
29-15 days of arrival 50% forfeit of total booking period
14-0 days of arrival 100% forfeit of total booking period
No Show 100% total booking period
Cancellations in Peak Season (20 December - 5 January)
Up to 60 days of arrival 50% forfeit of total booking period
59-30 days of arrival 75% forfeit of total booking period
29-0 days of arrival 100% forfeit of total booking period
No Show 100% total booking period
COVID-19-related Terms
Should your place of residence, or Te Arai, be impacted by a Government enforced lockdown which restricts you from leaving your place of residence or coming to Te Arai Lodge, then you can request a full refund or credit for the fully paid value of your accommodation towards a future booking.
This does not include flight cancellations due to other events such as weather, airline operational requirements or other guest or family health issues. We strongly recommend you take comprehensive travel insurance to protect your holiday investment.
Security Deposit
Credit card details will be retained for up to 7 days post your check out
There will be a post stay inspection within 24 hours of your check out
You agree that we are entitled to debit your credit card to cover any costs incurred such as the repair of any damage to the Property, missing items belonging to the Property, excessive cleaning, rubbish removal and additional staff hours incurred as a result of your stay. These costs will be at the reasonable discretion of the Property owner
If you paid by bank transfer or your credit card has expired or been cancelled, you agree to pay any costs as outlined above within 7 days of being requested by the property owner
On Site Activities
Events on the Property or use of the Property as a venue requires our express prior authorisation in writing and may incur an additional fee. If authorisation is not secured, guests will be asked to leave the Property immediately and there will be no refund for the remainder of the stay or of the security deposit
Access to Te Arai Lodge is prohibited for non-guests at all times, and our permission is required for guests’ visitors (i.e. guests not named on the registration form) to access the Property. If permission is not requested or given, guests will be asked to leave the Property immediately and there will be no refund for the remainder stay, or of the security deposit
We respect our guests privacy during their stay, however the site manager may inspect the property at any time with a minimum of 2 hours notice. Such notice may be provided verbally or by phone message
Miscellaneous
All rates are subject to change
Smoking is not permitted in the guest rooms or public areas within the hotel buildings.
No animals are permitted except for working assistance dogs (Guide and Hearing Assistance dog only)
We reserve the right to limit the number of people in any one room. Unless it has been previously communicated and agreed in writing we operate a no party policy
Any damage to the room or property may be charged to the credit card provided, or billed to the guest and may include loss of income if applicable
Te Arai Lodge accepts no responsibility to amend your reservation due to transport delays/closures/cancellations. i.e. airport, ferry, or road closures due to bad weather
Te Arai Lodge is not liable for any additional payment or transaction fees

Insurance/Liability
Your personal effects are not insured by us. You are responsible for all personal items you bring to the Property and for any loss or damage to such items
All facilities and any activities you participate in will be at your own risk. We do not accept any responsibility for injury or loss suffered. This includes the use of the swimming pool, hot tub, gym and fires
Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or responsible adult.
We do not and will not make any representations or give any express or implied warranties of any kind in relation to the Property
Privacy Policy
If for any reason, Te Arai Lodge is unable to accommodate you after your booking is confirmed, we will notify you immediately by e-mail. Te Arai Lodge is an accommodation provider located in Te Arai, New Zealand. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Under no circumstances will the details of guests be shared amongst individuals nor be distributed to third party organisations without consent. Credit card details entered are securely encrypted and all payments processed on this website are done through a certified PCI compliant payment gateway. Legal Trading Name: Te Arai Lodge Limited

Please note that in order for us to create the most memorable experience Te Arai Lodge holds the information you provide us in our secure hotel system and distributes it internally to appropriate departments prior and during your stay. After your departure you have a personal profile in our hotel system to ensure any return visits are seamless experiences. Personal data is treated in full confidence and not distributed to any parties outside of Te Arai Lodge limited. Please advise specifically should you wish to have all data removed post-stay
